Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data BuyerTell collects, why, how it's used, who processes it, and the rights you have over it. We keep it plain and short on purpose — if anything is unclear, email us and we'll explain.
1. Who we are
BuyerTell ("we", "us") operates the website at buyertell.com and the BuyerTell idea service. For any privacy question or request, contact hello@buyertell.com. We are the data controller for the personal data described below.
2. What we collect
When you join the waitlist
- Email address (required) — to hold your place and email you when your wave opens.
- Niche (optional) — to tailor the sample signal we show you.
- "What are you building" (optional, free text) — to understand who's joining.
- Referral code (if you arrived via someone's share link) and a join timestamp.
If you become a subscriber
- Delivery destination — e.g. your Telegram chat ID, Slack webhook, or email, so we can send your daily brief to the channel you chose.
- Preferences — your selected niche and settings.
- Billing identifiers — a customer/subscription ID from our payment processor. We do not store your card details; the processor handles payment data directly.
We do not knowingly collect special-category data, and we ask you not to send it in the free-text field.
3. How we use it, and our legal basis

You can withdraw consent at any time by unsubscribing or emailing us; it won't affect processing that already happened.
4. The mining engine and your data
BuyerTell's ideas are synthesized from public posts and reviews (Reddit, Hacker News, Stack Exchange, GitHub, Lobsters, App Store reviews). Your personal data (your email, what you're building) is never sent to the language model or included in the ideas we generate. The two systems are separate.

These providers act on our instructions. Some are based outside your country; where data is transferred internationally, it is protected by the transfer safeguards those providers offer (e.g. Standard Contractual Clauses).
6. Analytics and cookies
We use Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless and does not build a profile of you across sites. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, so there is no cookie banner to click through.
7. How long we keep it
Waitlist entries are kept until launch and for a reasonable period after, or until you ask us to delete them. Subscriber data is kept for the life of your subscription and a short period after cancellation to meet legal and accounting obligations, then deleted.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live (UK/EU GDPR, CCPA and similar), you can request to: access a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, export it, or object to/restrict processing. We don't sell your data. To exercise any right, email hello@buyertell.com and we'll respond within the timeframe the law requires. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
9. Children
BuyerTell is for founders and builders and is not directed at anyone under 16. We don't knowingly collect data from children.
10. Changes
If we make a material change we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you by email.
