How is BuyerTell different from GummySearch?+

GummySearch mined only Reddit and shut down in November 2025. BuyerTell reads six sources — including 1★ App Store reviews, which are pure switching intent — weights every signal by buyer intent, and hands you finished idea briefs instead of raw posts. It is also open-source and self-hostable.

What sources does BuyerTell mine?+

Reddit (30+ professional subreddits via OAuth), Hacker News, Stack Exchange (softwarerecs and webapps), App Store reviews (1–2★), GitHub Issues, and Lobsters.

How are ideas scored and ranked?+

Every signal is weighted by the intent it implies — from "would pay for" and "take my money" (×1.8) down to generic pain (×1.0) — then multiplied by engagement and source weight, deduped with a per-source cap so no single community dominates.

Three ranked ideas arrive each morning by Telegram, Slack, or email. An interactive bot answers /more for a full deep dive, and every idea is archived on a browsable dashboard.
